音楽プロデューサーの松尾潔氏（55）がシンガー・ソングライター山下達郎（70）も所属する音楽プロダクション「スマイルカンパニー」との契約を6月末で中途解除になった一件。松尾氏がジャニーズ事務所の創業者であるジャニー喜多川氏の性加害や藤島ジュリー社長の対応についてメディアで言及したことが社内で問題視され、山下も契約解除について賛成したと松尾氏が今月1日にツイッターで明らかにした。
これに対して山下は自身のラジオ番組「山下達郎サンデー・ソングブック」（TOKYO FM系）の9日放送回で本件について“大切な報告”を行うと宣言していた。
ラジオで山下は開始30分ごろから、およそ7分間にわたって騒動について言及。契約解除については〈今回、松尾氏がジャニー喜多川氏の性加害問題に対して臆測に基づく一方的な批判をしたことが、契約終了の一因であったことは認めます〉としたが、理由はそれだけではないと含みを持たせた。
■松尾氏の契約解除と山下氏のジャニーズ事務所忖度が混在
しかしながら、音楽ジャーナリストの富澤一誠氏が「基本的に松尾さんとスマイルカンパニーの契約解除の話と達郎さんがジャニーズ事務所に対して忖度をしているという話が混在しており、すれ違いがおきていると思います」というように、ジャニー喜多川氏の性加害については〈今回の一連の報道が始まるまでは漠然とした噂でしかなくて、私自身は、1999年の裁判のことすら聞かされておりませんでした〉〈本当にあったとすれば、それはもちろん許しがたいことであり、被害者の方々の苦しみを思えば、第三者委員会での事実関係の調査というのは必須であると考えます〉。
ただし自分はあくまで一作曲家、楽曲の提供者に過ぎず、〈音楽業界の片隅にいる私に、ジャニーズ事務所の内部事情など全くあずかり知らぬことですし、まして性加害の事実について私が知るすべは全くありません〉。さらに〈数々の才能あるタレントさんを輩出したジャニーさんの功績に対する尊敬の念は今も変わっていません〉として、〈自分の人生にとって一番大切なのは、ご縁とご恩〉だと話し、〈私が一個人、一ミュージシャンとしてジャニーさんへのご恩を忘れないことや、それがジャニーさんのプロデューサーとしての才能を認めることと、社会的倫理的な意味での性加害を容認することとは全くの別問題だと考えております〉とコメントした。
そして番組の最後では「このような私の姿勢を、忖度あるいは長いものに巻かれていると解釈されるのであればそれでも構いません。きっとそういう方々には私の音楽は不要でしょう」と、ジャニーズを徹底的に擁護し、「嫌なら聴くな」といわんばかりの不遜な言葉で結んだ。
松尾氏の発言について“臆測に基づく一方的な批判”と語った山下だが、性加害問題はすでに被害者も声を上げ、社会問題化しており、決して臆測などではない。それでもジャニーズをかばう姿勢を崩さず、被害者への想像力と社会性を欠いた山下に対して、リスナーの反応が冒頭のように厳しいものばかりとなったのは当然といえるだろう。
