芸能界に確固たる地位を築いてきた木村拓哉(50歳)の様子が、最近、少しおかしいらしい。
「孤高の存在として誰に対しても少し距離のあった木村が、知り合いの局員に自ら挨拶の電話を入れたり、ドラマでお世話になったスタッフの慰労会を主催しているというんです」(番組制作会社社員)
前クールに放送された木村主演の月9ドラマ『風間公親―教場0―』(フジ)の平均視聴率は9.8％。木村にとってひとケタ台というのは滅多にないことだ。木村の”変節”には、このことが影響しているともいわれる。
「『教場』には当初、映画化の話も出ていました。しかし今回の低視聴率を受け、その話も雲行きが怪しくなった。無理やり映画制作をして大コケしたら、それこそフジの担当者は責任問題になりますからね」(フジ関係者)
木村が急に周囲の人間と接するようになったのは、自身の置かれた状況を認識しているからなのか。
「これまでまったく話しかけてこなかった木村が、自ら声をかけてくるわけですからね。スタッフはみんな非常に驚いているそうです。妻の工藤静香がアドバイスをしているんじゃないか、なんて噂も出ています」(前出・制作会社社員)
昨今のテレビ業界の苦境とは、視聴率男と呼ばれたキムタクをもってしても無関係ではいられないということか。
