監督の心境そのものが描写されてるし、ジブリ各作品のセルフオマージュらしきシーンが散りばめられている。
例えば、空に浮かぶ建物の底面にへばりついて植物のツタを掴もうとするけど失敗して落ちるシーンとかね。
あとは、奇妙な飛行生物が主人公の襟首を足で掴んで、羽音をブーンて立てながら重そうに空を飛ぶシーンとか。
