俳優杉野遥亮（27）が主演するフジテレビ系連続ドラマ「ばらかもん」（水曜午後10時、初回15分拡大）の第1話が12日に放送され、平均世帯視聴率が5・9％（関東地区速報値）だったことが13日、ビデオリサーチの調べで分かった。平均個人視聴率は3・3％だった。
杉野にとってはゴールデン・プライム帯（午後7時～同11時）連続ドラマ初主演となる。本作は日本一美しい海を擁するとも言われる五島列島が舞台。書道だけを支えに孤高に生きてきた都会育ちの青年書道家・半田清舟（はんだ・せいしゅう／杉野遥亮）が五島列島で出会った琴石（こといし）なる（宮崎莉里沙）ら島民たちとの交流を通じ、書道家として、そして人間としても成長していくハートフル“島”コメディー。「ばらかもん」とは、五島列島の方言で“元気者”を意味する。また、田中みな実、綱啓永、豊嶋花、近藤華、山口香緒里、ずん飯尾和樹らが出演。
原作は「ガンガンONLINE」、月刊「少年ガンガン」（スクウェア・エニックス）にて2008年から2018年にかけて連載された同名コミック。全18巻という長期連載に加え、スピンオフ漫画（「はんだくん」全7巻）も発行されるほどの人気を誇り、シリーズ累計1000万部超えを果たした。2014年にはアニメ化、2016年にはスピンオフ漫画もアニメ化された人気作が、このたび、満を持してドラマ化される。
▼第1話あらすじ
都会生まれ、都会育ちの清舟は、高名な書道家・半田清明（遠藤憲一）を父に持ち、新進気鋭の書道家としてもてはやされてきた。だが、ある賞を受賞した祝いの席で、清舟は書道界の重鎮・八神龍之介（田中泯）から「実につまらない字だ」と批判されたことに激高。マネジャー・川藤鷹生（中尾明慶）の制止を振り切って館長につかみかかる。清明は、そんな清舟に「お前は書道家の前に、人間として欠けている部分がある」と告げ、長崎県・五島列島で頭を冷やせと命じる。
五島福江空港に降り立った清舟は、バスもタクシーもいない田舎感にあぜんとしながらも、初めて会った島民・琴石耕作（花王おさむ）の運転するトラクターに乗り、やっとの思いで七ツ岳郷に到着。郷長の木戸裕次郎（飯尾和樹）に古びた一軒家を案内されるが、誰も住んでいないはずなのに、室内には人の気配が。そこにいたのは近所の小学生・琴石なる。なるは村の悪ガキたちと、この家を基地にしていたのだ。
書の修行をするため、静かな1人きりの時間を過ごせるかと思いきや、なるを始め、勝手に家に上がり込んでくる自由奔放な島民たちとの人付き合い、清舟は慣れない田舎の一人暮らしに翻弄されてしまう。しかし、清舟は戸惑いつつも、島民たちに助けられ、励まされ、少しずつ心の成長をし、新たな書の境地を拓いていく。この夏、日本を元気にするハートフル“島”コメディーが開幕する。
