ロックバンド『聖飢魔II』のボーカリストで、現在はソロアーティストやタレントとして活動するデーモン閣下が、公式ブログで、自身が出演するイベントでのマスク着用を要請。
3月13日以降、マスク着用は「個人の判断」になっており、閣下のスタンスに賛否が寄せられる事態となっている。
デーモン閣下は、6月24日、静岡県富士市で公演をおこなったが、開催にあたっての「伝達事項」として、22日付けのブログに以下の一文を掲載した。
《来場予定諸君に吾輩から。政府や自治体の見解や世の中の流れがどうであれ、「マスクの着用」を要請する。また、マスクを着用していない人からの「声援」も遠慮願いたい。
これは主催会館からの「禁止義務要請」ではない。あくまでも座長である吾輩「個・悪魔」からの要請である》
あくまで個人（「個・悪魔」）からの要請だとしつつ、
《コロナもさることながら、現在麻疹も流行の兆しとなっている。皆が安心して舞台を鑑賞できることと、声援で盛り上がっていること、どちらを選ぶのかと言われれば、吾輩は前者を選ぶ。
声援が無くても心が伝わることはこの数年間で大いに学習した。来場諸君たちの自主性に委ねることになる。諸君の自己・他己防衛意識に期待したい》
と説明。「この言葉を拡散してくれ」と記した。
デーモン閣下といえば、1982年に地獄から人間界に降り立って以降、自身を「人間の体を借りた悪魔」としてきた存在。それだけに、この書き込みには、さまざまな意見が書き込まれた。

悪魔とはいえ、広島県の「がん検診啓発キャラクター」や厚生労働省の「上手な医療のかかり方」プロジェクトで大使を務めるなど、健康増進活動もおこなってきた閣下。
今回は、あくまで「個・悪魔」としての要請だったが、長年の信者のなかには、複雑な思いを抱いた人も多かったようだ。
